Oops, I did it again!

By Laura Yates on Jan 13, 09 08:41 PM

It would appear that I'm not quite resolute enough when it comes to my NYRs - and it's only day two of starting them in earnest.

I was just about to start writing about how I'd gone a whole day with no sugar, when it dawned on me that, yet again, I've inadvertently eaten a great big load of it without even realising.

This time I was offered cakes and biscuits from last night's meeting. I scoffed a slice of cake on the spot. Then I seized two chocolate digestives, and ran off to eat them at my desk like a feral animal.

Oh dear, oh dear. I must try and pay more attention to what I'm eating. Although being blissfully unaware of the amount of calories I've scoffed can be quite good; I get to enjoy the food and not think too much about possible weight gain afterwards.

ALSO, as far as these resolutions go, I haven't managed to stay away from Facebook AT ALL. In fact the blasted thing robbed me of two hours of my life last night. Two perfectly good hours that I'm never going to get back, that I could have spent practising my recorder (something I haven't so much as looked at since my first glance at crotchets on page 2).

Facebook is the crack cocaine of cyberspace. You can't dabble safely without it taking over your life! I only meant to have a quick mooch at my profile and before I knew it, it was 10.30!

I have to be ruthless. NO FACEBOOK. Not even a peek at status updates. Nothing. Nada. Nil.

I may even delete my account on there. Yes, I will definitely do that. Just as soon as I've checked my emails..
