ASBO Baby
Upon collecting The Kid yesterday afternoon, I was made aware that he's getting into the habit of scratching and pinching.
Now I was well aware of his penchant for grabbing handfuls of flesh (I've got the scratches to prove it) but I thought it was only me who he routinely savaged. Turns out he's been grabbing other children's cheeks until he's prized off by a sturdy adult.
Although there's no harm done it's definitely a habit I don't want developing further. I was trying to think of why he could be doing it. I certainly don't think it's done out of any malice, actually he seems to think it's quite funny, and is genuinely shocked when he gets told off for it.
I was giving this matter some thought, when The Boy meandered over, shoved his face into The Kid, and started laughing when he started to grab at him.
Ah. Mystery solved. It appears The Kid's anti-social behaviour is the result of an over-zealous big brother. It also solves the puzzle as to the cause of those tiny little scratches that have been appearing on The Boys face.
After I stern word I doubt The Boy will be encouraging any further brutal conduct in his younger sibling. I just hope there's no other rogue behaviour being nurtured, otherwise he might find himself to be the youngest person in Britain to have an ASBO put on him.
