Top Ten Best Christmas Films

By Laura Yates on Dec 9, 08 09:17 PM

There's nothing like a festive film to get you full of Christmas spirit. Here are the ten best to watch with your little ones over the forthcoming holidays...

10 How The Grinch Stole Christmas
9 The Santa Claus
8 Miracle on 34th Street
7 Santa Claus The Movie

6 The Polar Express
5 Charlie Brown's Christmas
4 A Muppet Christmas Carol (or any variation of A Christmas Carol for that matter)
3 Love Actually
2 Home Alone
1 The Snowman

The Other Half reckons that Ghostbusters should be on the list. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think it had anything to do with Christmas? And, okay, Love Actually might not be suitable for young kiddies, but it's staying on the list on account of it being FABULOUS.. but then so is The Holiday.. and Scrooged.. and The Nightmare Before Christmas..

Perhaps the only change I'd make would be to replace Charlie Brown's Christmas with It's a Wonderful Life because everyone tells me how great it is, but I haven't seen it so I can't.

Best get watching if we're going to get them in by the 25th. Can't believe there's only fifteen days left! Bring it on!!

10 How The Grinch Stole Christmas - ok despite Jim Carrey constantly mugging for the camera
9 The Santa Claus - looks awful
8 Miracle on 34th Street - sentimental dross
7 Santa Claus The Movie - AWFUL AWFUL MOVIE
6 The Polar Express - I cant stand Tom Hanks, even a CG version
5 Charlie Brown's Christmas - never seen it
4 A Muppet Christmas Carol (or any variation of A Christmas Carol for that matter) - Best one on the list!
3 Love Actually - ok.......
2 Home Alone - Awful movie, dont watch this with rose tinted glasses, it forced Culkin on us!
1 The Snowman - The best bit is when it melts! :D

Now what about Gremlins? The great outdoors? National Lampoons Christmas vacation?

I have watched Santa claus the movie (it's my personal favorite all time christmas film), It's a wonderful life, and Miracle on 34th street already this christmas period, (all at the weekend actually) and i've got white christmas and one magic christmas to go, (why aren't they on the list)

I personally don't like the snowman, and have to turn it off if it's on, but that's just me. :-)

I am currently watching Bad Santa. Really not a film for kids, but very funny nonetheless. If you like that sort of thing.

Ah, call me sentimental, but the top 3 has got to be the Saw 1, Saw 2, Saw 3. I love Christmas.
