Mitten Muddle
Is there some secret to putting on mittens, or indeed any kind of glove with separated fingers that I'm not aware of?
Today I was determined to get The Kid's mittens on properly, making sure his thumb was in the thumb bit and fingers in the big bit. I eventually gave up and, as usual, his whole hand ended up in the big bit. Sometimes I can't even manage that and the mittens end up half way down his hands making his arms look abnormally long.
All the other babies I see wearing mittens don't appear to have this problem. I've asked the other moms around the school gates and they have to agree that it's a difficult skill to master, and anyway, toddlers may as well wear socks on their hands when they're being marched around in a pushchair on a cold autumnal day. After all, it's not like they've got to do anything particularly dextrous like use a phone or open their own sweets, is it?

I have the same issues with tights...
