Vile Computer Games
I'm appalled by an advert I've just seen for a computer game. It seems to be nothing more than wandering around with a gun, aiming, shooting, killing.
When did it suddenly become alright to seriously promote running about blowing things up? Hideous games like this get 'rave' reviews by players and others in the industry - it all makes me sick. It's little more than a bunch of immature people with nothing better to do, sitting around indulging themselves with violence.
I've heard the kind of conversations that arise from teenagers as a result of playing these games, it makes for very disturbing listening - and I DON'T CARE that these games aren't supposed to be for young people. The industry has to take responsibility for the fact that these games WILL be given to these kids to play, by their monstrously irresponsible parents.
Whatever happened to games like New Zealand Story or Paper Boy? THESE are the kind of games that raise respectable, upstanding citizens! People may be blown away by the flawless graphics of some of these newer games, but give me Chuckie Egg on the Sinclair ZX Spectrum any day of the week!

I agree 100% thats why I like the Wii its sports games adn real fun activities that dont contain any blood shed or violence my big baby (my partner) is obsessed with a game called call of duty or something like that and its so violent its scary its also very realistic he is 29 so he obviously knows better but i cant imagie a 8 year old ever been subjected to that type of violence !!!! O and paper boy was my favourite game ever !!! I used to spend hours at my comadore 64 trying to get those papers in those little mail boxes lol the most violence in those was trying to avoiding the dogs and cars in the road a valuable lesson in road safety I think u will agree lol !!
You have no idea what you are talking about. Have you ever played them? tried to find out why games are so popular and are now making more money than movies,even have movie like prodution costs

To be honest, i play a lot of them games, and they are wicked fun! Just like i have fun playing singstar, and wii fit. If its got an 18 title, then it shouldn't be played by people under 18. And that solely lies with the parent/gaurdian. I know kids that watch 18 cert horrors and have nightmares for months because of it. And the parents? Laugh. Yeah, thats funny. Should you really be doing that to your own child? Hmm, maybe not hey?
So, you can't have a go at the games companies, who are making serious dough, in hard times. I would take to the streets if they stopped producing violent games. I am never going to do it in real life, so i want to do it on my new 40" hd lcd surround sound telly, where its all totally legal and i'm not going to suddenly think its a good idea to take to the streets hunting down terrorists with my M40 sniper rifle.
And then go online and kill my friends in an online battle, and laugh about it next time i see them!
