And so endeth the weekend.
And like so many other weekends before it, I'm left wondering where did those hours go? Most have them have been spent on washing, cleaning, ironing and the weekly shop. In between these joyous activities we've managed to squeeze in some sleep, punctuated by The Kid reminding us he still doesn't feel very well - about every three hours or so.
No person will ever understand just how tired it is possible to become until they have a baby.
That said he is much better now and we are all looking forward to (and praying for) a good night's sleep tonight.
There is also news on The Moll front; it appears she may have had a reprieve. The cat flap is not actually broken meaning we can re-commission it. This lets The Moll access outside and not give my nice living room carpet her very special treatment.
Also, I've since heard that it's a bad idea to re-home her within a mile of where we live as she'll probably try and get back 'home' as soon as she's let outside - so sending her off five hundred yards and across a busy road suddenly isn't sounding like the perfect solution we first thought.
I just feel that I must try harder to find a solution. A cat is for life, not just until you have another baby after all.
So, it looks like The Moll is staying, as long as the cat flap stands up to the usual intruders. I'd have missed her malingering about the kitchen at this time of night, hoping we'll relent and offer her her second dinner of the evening. And night times wouldn't be the same without me hearing a strange noise, turning on the light and finding her perched on the bedside table like a fluffy lamp, caught with dripping paw half out of my glass of milk and 'I didn't do it' written all over her face.
It is back to work as usual tomorrow then. Just one more week to go and it's half term! And it would be here even quicker if the hours pass as quickly as the weekend ones do.
