In fairness to the London-centric Guardian, they appear to have acknowledged that their columnist may have made some presumptive errors by publishing a full response in today's paper on p35, or at this link.

Steve, not sure if you meant to use Watford Gap in the Headline of your response. Watford Gap happems to be near Rugby, I assume you meant to say north of Watford so as not to exclude those regional papers in the 60 or so miles in between.
