Oo, ahh - Paul McGrath signs for the Birmingham Mail!
What a result to come back from hols to...
After a number of conversations via Sports Editor Ken Montgomery, it's now been confirmed that Villa legend Paul McGrath has signed for the Birmingham Mail.
From this Tuesday he will pen a two page review of the Premiership weekend.
Should be a scorcher for footy fan readers. Really pleased.

Brilliant all Villa fans will look forward to read the messages from God.
Paul McGrath, my Lord, Paul McGrath, Paul McGrath, my Lord, Paul McGrath!
What's God said? You must know by now... WHat's his view on the Barry saga? Has Friedl got it? (Two goals in his first Premiership match... lucky Villa scored four).
C'mon, give us a hint...!

mr mcgrath, will no doubt be welcomed by the 65 people that sly bailey is gettting rid of. no doubt his 2 pages of ghost-written exclusives will boost the ABC figures by a % of a % point (in other words zilch). There are more people employed giving away freesheets, than there are producing a mundane, stuck in the 70,s,error-ridden, rascist, rag --apparently registered at the Post Office as a newspaper
You make take offence at the charge of rascism. However on lots of occasions, where a crime has allegedly been commited, the last sentence is usually "police are looking for 2 black men". I have never read that WMP are seeking the assistance of 2 white men.
All very well and good, so who is doing your Blues column, TF? Surely you and your fellow Villa supporters at the Mail won't be that biased?
Pardon for the pun but the Mail has really scored an own goal with the signing of Paul McGrath. Announcing this great deal and then kicking 65 employees in the guts the next day smacks of a PR error of the highest order.
While we're on football, look at what's happened to the bungling Brian Barwick! Let's hope Sly sees through her rose-tinteds at some of the big earners at the P&M. Get rid of them and 65 hacks wouldn't need to go then.
Oh, but they'll go with a big fat pay-off and a pension they haven't contributed too and enjoy a life of luxury for the rest of their lives.
Who said you get out of life what you put in? Most definitely a case of saying the right thing to the right people - not ability!
Do you think we're made? For info, the plan for Paul McGrath's column has only gone ahead because it is to be funded by sponsorship. No revenue for it, no long-term column.
