The magic of the FA Cup
There's a tingling in my tum about the Baggies in tomorrow's FA Cup semi-final. What a giant-killing performance it would be to have a Midland Championship team in the actual final.
The joy of being editor in Brum is that there are THREE huge clubs to cover... Blues, Villa and WBA. Whatever your allegience re. Villa and Blues, EVERYONE has a soft spot for the Baggies. Most Brum soccer fans' 2nd team, if they're not Baggies' supporters themselves.
And the treat for me tomorrow is that I get to watch them live. Wembley sponsors National Express have invited me down as editor of the Birmingham Mail to watch the drama. Mrs D is not much of a footy fan, and so along with me is my guest Tony Williams, an IT teacher in Birmingham. He's also my brother-in-law and, most importantly, a Portsmouth fan!
The table I'm on, which includes Baggies legend Cyrille Regis, will be a babble of conflicting fans' views!
C'mon the Baggies!!
If they win, we'll have a 20-page pull-out in Monday's paper, plus picture galleries galore, match reports, video coverage, forum posts and, of course, this happy blogger along with the Mail's own ecstatic Baggies' reporter's blog, Chris Lepkowski, on this site.

Hope you do beat Portsmouth, boyo, 'cos we'll be in the final and are looking forward to eating you!
Er, thanks! Read the next blog for my prediction...
