Digital Camera Experience

By Julie Locke on Sep 19, 08 08:34 PM

We have had our first lesson on loading photographs onto our laptop from a BT Digital Camera.

It is fantastic and so easy to do, no more messing about with camera films and taking the film to be developed, this is instant.

We had some photographs taken, they were saved on the memory disc in the camera, then we took the memory disc out of the camera, and inserted the disc into our laptop, the photographs that we had taken were automatically installed onto our laptop.

We now have these photogarphs permanently saved on our laptop.

Now we know what to do and how easy it is to use a digital camera, every holiday and family day out we share we will capture on camera and transfer them to our laptop, its just great.

You might want to think about other means of storage for your photographs rather than just your laptop. If something happened to the laptop you might lose them for good. There are plenty of places online to store files and photos but perhaps the best one is Flickr. That also allows you to share the images with family and friends or you can just upload the images there as a back-up. Even better, it's free to use or you can pay about £15 to get unlimited storage.

Well done so far.

Another idea might be once you have a number of photos on your machine - download them onto a disc. then clear them from your machine to free up memory (check they're on the disc before you do this) This would be your own backed up version of your images (like your old negatives)I keep all my discs in my photobox.
