I paid my third visit - and first since it got a Michelin star - to the Harborne restaurant Turner's last night.
My wife and I went with friends and ate from the midweek Auberge menu, which offers three courses at a cost of £17.95.
The food, service and ambience were fantastic and there'll be a full review in the Birmingham Mail's Food + Drink section next week.
If there's a bigger food bargain in Birmingham right now, I'd be very surprised.
Heartiest congratulations to Purnells and Turners for their new Michelin stars and to Simpsons for retaining theirs.
I fully expected Purnells and Simpsons to be recognised, but Turners took me by surprise, I must admit.
Not because I have anything but the greatest admiration for Richard Turner's classy food, but because I thought Michelin might shrink from awarding a star to a small, suburban restaurant.

Last night I paid a second visit to Turner's in Harborne, a place that has won many fans since it opened just under a year ago.
Small wonder. Its chef, Richard Turner, is a talented man and I admired his cooking at the long-gone Mailbox restaurant Paris, though the solemn decor there always left me feeling ill at ease.
I was impressed by Turner's when I first went and even more so on my latest visit. There's a touch of class about the food.
