Annemarie Kropf blames it all on Monkees reruns. The way Davy Jones sang “and a homecoming queen” firmly planted the idea in her 6-year-old head that one day, she would marry an Englishman and surround herself with people who spoke just like that. And so, she did, leaving her New York lifestyle behind in order to live with her Scouse-accented Prince Charming. (Sunday roasts helped sweeten the deal, shh.)
