MICHAEL GOLDEN the renowned comic book artist was something of a recluse from the comic book convention circuit, but that has changed over the last two years.
Golden was a guest at October's Birmingham International Comics Show (BICS) and only a few days prior to this posting a fellow professional artist was commenting more than favourably about the How to Draw a Page of Sequential Art event that the artist's artist hosted.
Putting something back into the medium appears to be what Golden is about these days for he has also been teaching classes on his various trips throughout Europe in recent times. This snapshot feature includes photographs taken in Germany and Spain.
Michael Golden made his name on characters like Batman over at DC, where he also redefined the look of the Man-Bat. At Marvel readers beheld his vision for Dr Strange, and within the pages of a now classic Avengers Annual he became co-creator of The X-Men's Rogue character.
Recent years have seen Golden focus on producing covers for assorted publishers, alongside portfolio and essay collections on his work being produced.
The artist's appearance in Birmingham was his first official appearance in the UK and he proved to be a monster hit with the fans!
