Booking fees are a particular bugbear of mine. Why do we stand for promoters screwing an extra £2 or £2.50 or whatever extra profit out of us as a booking fee? And why when you buy ten tickets are there ten booking fees for what is one booking?
My wife was buying some rail tickets for my mother-in-law over the internet and found she had the choice of a £2.50 charge for paying by credit card or 50p for using a debit card. Unless we missed the slots in the computer for stuffing notes and coins in there was no other way of paying. There was then a £1 fee for posting the tickets to you or a 50p fee if you collected them from a station. Again there was no other way of receiving the tickets.
Now I am sure their accountants won't like it because there is probably some tax fiddle involved but why can't they just be honest and put the prices up?
