Blatter blather and more

They just won't let it lie, will they?

First Sepp Blatter reckons Martin Taylor's tackle on Eduardo was an 'attack' and he was seeking to 'destroy' him.

Then Carlos Queiroz, talking about Manchester United's defeat by Portsmouth and bemoaning referees (with some justification) took up the baton.

Chuntering on about a lack of protection he said 'this is why the Taylors of this world can survive and the best players are out of the game'.

Excuse me, Carlos, did you see Wayne Rooney's lunge at Niko Kranjcar on Saturday? Had he connected, he could have done serious damage.

Now that was a terrible challenge; maybe protection is needed 'from the Rooneys of this
world'?

It was all the more ridiculous as Sir Alex Ferguson came out publicly in defence of Taylor shortly after the Eduardo incident, saying he had known him since a youth at Blackburn and wasn't dirty or malicious
.
Next, Blatter continued his posturing. He warned that he wanted the FA to release the disciplinary file on Taylor with a view to extending his ban.

Taylor's name is getting brought up regularly as some sort of by-word for thuggery.

That's ludicrous. Before speaking, football people should engage brain [although I guess that's tough for rent-a-quote Blatter] and perhaps do their homework.

Look at Taylor's tackle, look at the circumstances, look at the player himself and then decide.

And check out Phil Bardsley against Everton and Novo Nacho versus Hibs yesterday.

Don't just hold Taylor up as something he isn't.

Colin,
Spot on. I don't suppose Blues' legal eagles are taking a close look at this are they? That's three people who have arguably libelled Taylor in one weekend.

Tatts....
With your contacts, what chance is there of obtaining the footage (with apologies for the pun) of Tiny's tackle one second prior? If it actually shows his foot in line with the ball then isn't that arguement over?

Carlos Queiroz, blatter and ronaldo, all made silly comments at the weekend.

Maybe they should view some of the arsenal players tackles v Man utd or the tackle that led to Wayne Rooneys first red card (at St. Andrews)

It is now confirmed. Sepp Blatter is a total moron.

I have to disagree here, calling Blatter a moron is an insult to the morons of this world.
Time for Blatter to retire?....ABSOLUTELY.

Unfortunatly Sepp Blatter is a total pratt. He is always jumping on the bandwagon without having any real cause. According to my opinion, he is probably one of the most corrupt people in football. The cliché "people and glasshouses" comes to mind. Yes there have been many dangerous tackles in Football and Martin Taylor was definatly slow and clumsy but not deliberate. Let it rest there! Eduardo has no hard feelings despite his unfortunate injury why are so many others getting involved.

Colin with your contacts at City can you tell me if Martin Taylor did visit Eduardo in hospital. All the Arsenal sites are going on about it and I feel it needs to be cleared up.

Tatts said:

Martin Taylor DID go and see Eduardo in hospital. They spoke, Eduardo accepted that there was no malice in the tackle. To suggest otherwise is a lie. Taylor, Blues and Arsenal have all confirmed that he went to see him. The story on Croatian television to the contrary was made up.

Thanks Col for the speedy reply.

Does anyone know how Sepp Blatter can actually stay in his position? Is there ever a vote/re-election? If so, why he is not voted off? If yes, are we stuck with him for ever? The guy is a complete and utter clown and should be nowhere near a position of such power.

Colin,

can we not get some form of petition going against this Idiot Blatter...?? I am sure that most football fans, let alone birmingham fans, would like to see the back of this blattering eejit...???

i seem to recall potatoe head Bruce led a fairly sustained character assasination on Paul Robinson after he challenged Damian Johnson (which wasnt even a foul, according to ref if i remember correctly).

wonder what potatoe head would have had to say about taylor if he was manager of blues now?

Bruce has said what every rational, intelligent, football person has: it was an accident, mis timed. Just like Thuggo's accidental collision with Jonty's head via his elbow. Ask Stewart Talbot about his accidental collision with his shins by his studs that fractured his leg too while we are at it.
