Cashing in on kit and kaboodle
A COUPLE of weeks to go before the lads set off on a hideously overpriced football trip to Spain and we've been issued with a 'must have' kit list.
Two tracksuit bottoms, boots with plastic studs only, two pairs of trainers...the thing reads like a Christmas wish list rather than an inventory for three days away.
Worryingly one of the boys has seen it as an opportunity to get mum and dad to stock up for the whole year - and his brother, anxious not to be left behind, has followed suit.
"We need this, we need that. It's not my fault, that's what is says on the list," he insisted.
You have to admire their opportunism, but like it or not my two will be heading for foreign shores with the bare minimum of kit and spending money they've saved themselves...and they'll have a damn good time.
Money, I keep trying to explain to them, can't buy you happiness.
