What price loyalty?
I've spent years trying to convince my two lads that there's a lot to be said for supporting a lower league club - and finally the Premiership has come to my rescue.
Their ludicrous plan for a 39th game has at last made my two realise that the Premiership exists only to line the pockets of the chosen few who care little for the soul of the national game.
Amazingly the cunning plan which would see Wigan pit their wits against Bolton in Hong Kong has won support from Blues chief David Gold who appears to have lost sight of what the game means to real people.
It's 19 games home, 19 away and the best at the end of that lot wins silverware or goes down. Simple.
Me and my lads might support a rubbish team but they're OUR rubbish team and backing them through thick and thin has taught them lessons in loyalty, dedication and the harsh reality of life that you can't win all the time.
It wasn't too long ago that Blues were down there with our lot...how quickly some people forget when money is in the air.
But, as my boys have now been shown, money isn't everything.
