TV HELL
I've just had the misfortune to be at home with the TV on at a time when Middlesbrough were facing Sheffield United in the FA Cup.
I wouldn't normally be bothered. I wouldn't normally have watched.
But a little piece of my life depended on the result.
And in the end another Saturday 3pm kick-off has bitten the dust.
Villa will not now face Boro the weekend after next but the following midweek (Wednesday March 12, 7.45pm).
That's not good for the supporters who have just endured a 12.30pm kick-off at Reading.
Sky and Satanta have wrecked this season with their pointless schedules.
It began with a 5.15pm on a Saturday, which was followed by a 5.15pm on a Saturday and inbetween we have had 4pm on a Sunday, twice, 2pm on a Sunday, 8pm on a Monday, another 5.15pm on a Saturday, a 1.30pm on a Sunday, a 1pm on a Sunday, an 8pm on a Wednesday, another 5.15pm on a Saturday, a 12.45pm on a Saturday, a 1pm Boxing Day kick-off in London, a 5.20pm kick-off on New Years Day, another 5.15pm kick-off on a Saturday, another 8pm on a Monday, a 4pm on a Sunday and a 12.45pm on a Saturday.
This weekend's trip to Arsenal will be only Villa's tenth 3pm Saturday kick-off.
Ridiculous.
And yet it took a plan for a 39th game abroad for supporters to start arguing that fans' concerns do not come first!
