Moore to Albion

By Bill Howell on Feb 20, 08 10:45 AM

Luke Moore is on his way to Albion.
Albion have got themselves another striker when most supporters think they needed a centre half.
Does Tony Mowbray think he has signed Darren Moore?
Moore will be playing against Hull City when last summer it looked as if he would be terrorising Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool for the Villa.
Albion now have four strikers which most Premier League teams would be keen: Roman Bednar, Kevin Phillips and Ishmael Miller. We will leave Craig Beattie for another day, shall we?
For Villa the reasoning is simple. Moore has played 18 times this season, starting half, and scoring twice.
That can happen. But his general demeanour has been of a player desperate to move on.
So he joins the Cahill's, Ridgewell, Davis' and Whittingham's of this world out of the exit door. That's well over £14million of home-grown talent sold altogether.
Martin O'Neill will be buying big in the summer and in the meantime, Villa fans have a young Nathan Delfounso to look forward to. I hear he may get a call before too long.

For the full story, and an interesting one it is too from Martin O'Neill on this transfer, read tomorrow's Birmingham Mail.
